60CM x 50CM, HEAVY OIL ON BOX CANVAS, 2022

This piece was painted as a powerful symbol of solidarity with Ukraine.

Purposeful splashes of colour and texture interrupt the backdrop of the Ukrainian flag. Turmoil and upheaval is represented in the texture and movement of the paint itself. The palette knife has been used to etch into the thick oil paint – stitching layers of colour together. Holding fiercely together, despite being torn apart.

This piece has been framed in a bespoke floating box frame, hand finished in Zoffany Ink. Framing was kindly donated by Canvas Galleries in Belfast.

This piece was auctioned off to raise money for charity. 100% of funds raised were donated to the International committee of the Red Cross.
