Three Sisters; One Good Coat

Sold

80CM x 60CM, HEAVY OIL ON BOX CANVAS

There once were three sisters who all married very young. They lived with their respective husbands in parishes next to each other.

They didn’t have a lot of money to buy new clothes but wanted to look “well turned out” at mass. So they staggered the times each one would go to mass – meeting each other afterwards to quickly exchange clothes and take turns to wear the one good coat.
