MEET THE ARTIST

Anna McKeever is a contemporary Irish artist. Her practice explores connection, belonging and the Irish psyche. Her work considers our relationship to land, place and one another.

A former medical doctor, McKeever spent over a decade working in psychiatry. This experience informs her interest in identity and the human condition. Her paintings draw on the Irish landscape, mythology and folklore. Memory and heritage are recurring themes.

McKeever works predominantly in oil, often at scale. Her immersive, semi-abstract landscapes are defined by bold colour, layered surfaces and expressive mark-making. Ancient narratives sit alongside contemporary experience. Her paintings explore migration, transformation and kinship through a distinctive visual language.
